Is cruising safe? My take on the Costa Concordia.

There has been a lot of concern in the travel business and the traveling public lately regarding the future of the cruise business.

I realize that people want to know if cruising is safe. Providing them with all the standard “Cruise approved” platitudes will not placate the concerns of those people who recognize the irresponsible behaviour of the Captain of the Costa Concordia. I believe he will be found guilty of this outrageous disaster.

What I would say to those who want to know if they can feel safe booking a cruise is yes, they are. What follows is my perspective on why I believe this to be true. Continue Reading »

Getting Along

I was thinking about harmony today.

There are positive people and there are negative people. Neither of these personality traits can be changed. It’s interesting that negative people can get along with negative people but don’t mix positive with negative. This applies to personal and business relationships. I have always tried to use this principal with anyone  joining Travel Masters.

If you are in a negative relationship… GET OUT.  Life is too short. You’re wasting your time if you are trying to change or hoping the other person will change.
